On today, the 10th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Georgia. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Hard to believe it's been five years TODAY.
I still find some log books occasionally in the control rooms or Hospital Log book with your entries. My fingertips smooth the tattered pages and delicately touch the ink mementos of your time as Wilcox. You were an awesome officer. Your loyalty and dedication are qualities hard to find in many who walk the beat now.
I am so glad that Jesus was your Savior. I know that He has you near to Him. I KNOW where you are. 'Til we meet again on that celestial shore... I'll always love you. I'll have Paula in prayers. I cry out to the Lord for her comfort.
She paid a hard price in losing you.

I remember all the conversations we had when we were at Wilcox State Prison together. You were a hard worker, and always willing to help anyone who asked. The super on the day you went home was amazing, but we would rather still have you here.

Dear Georgia Department:
My name is Keilyn Fix and I am a tenth grader at the Pinellas Park High School's Criminal Justice Academy located in Largo, FL. The Criminal Justice Academy is four-year high school magnet program with an emphasis on law education. Students not only receive education in all academic areas but gain an understanding of the American legal system and are able to explore the wide range of career-related opportunities available to them.

In our Criminal Justice Operations class we are honoring fallen officers around the nation and have been given the privilege to honor Officer Larry L. Stell from your agency. I wanted to let you know that not only do I appreciate Officer Larry L. Stell's ultimate sacrifice but I also appreciate all that officers are doing in our communities. It often goes unrecognized and I feel it is important for officers to know they are respected and appreciated.

To honor Officer Larry L. Stell I have designed a video slide show along with a poster board to show and recognize all of Larry L. Stell's hard work on and off duty. I would like to make this project available to your agency or Officer Larry L. Stell's family. If you have any information you could share about Officer Larry L. Stell it would be greatly appreciated so I could incorporate it into my project. Please contact me if you would be interested. My contact information and my criminal justice teacher's contact information are listed below. Thank you so much for your time.

Respectfully,

Keilyn Fix

Still today, my heart cries out. That was a very hard year for me. We lost two wonderful officers that year. Officer Larry Stell and Officer Joshua Lubelsky. If the DOC of corrections did'nt teach me anything else, it taught me that we were "ONE TEAM" I left the department shortly after that. Many had their opinions on why...I sought counselor after that for awhile to get help for myself...that day changed me.......still dealing with it.....

i never met you but we are brothers in the same field. Some folks look at us as babysitters or not "real" law enforcment. thats ok tho cause we know the truth. all the BS we got thu with admin and inmates alike. Dealing with inmates that dont care what happens to them and were just another body. No pay raise no proper training and untill your Death we didnt even have stab proff vest. Most officers know think the vest are a joke dont relize how dangerous this place really is. Let them talk to your family and see the heartach this place has caused and they will prob look for another job. Thank you for your service.

I justt heard about Larry's final sacrifice. I lived in McRae, worked at Wilcox SP and would see him at church. He always took the time to talk to me and encourage me. Tragedy that someone so positive is gone so young. I'm so glad my path crossed with his for such a time. My prayers for his family, and my hope for them rests firmly in Christ. Thank you Lord for bringing this type of man into our lives for even so brief a time. May God bless those who are mourning the loss of this friend.
