Andrew, I still think of you often, the conversations, the times we taught together. You are greatly missed - still so many broken hearts!! But as a trooper does - we still walk the walk that few choose to do. While you are at rest in heaven's splendor, we still fight the good fight here below. You are my friend!

I remember the first and only time that I had to honor of meeting Trooper Fox. I was in the academy, and Trooper Fox had pulled over on 81 near the Pulaski exit to assist us change a tire on a patrol vehicle. He recommended to me to buy a nice floor jack to carry in my truck, so when I helped people change tires, it would be a lot easier. I bought one before I started my job, and have used it twice, on my patrol car. Thank you Trooper Fox for the advice.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, and you're family. You are greatly missed. Thank you very much for your service, and sacrifice.

I had the pleasure of knowing Andrew since his graduation from the State Police Academy. As First Sergeant in Arlington, I had the pleasure of working with Andrew on many special assignments and of chats alongside the road when I would stop behind Andrew while he was on the side of the road or when he returned the favor for me. Andrew never had a bad word to say to me about the Department. You could easily see he loved his job and was an outstanding young man. The Virginia State Police lost a shining star on October 5, 2012. People like Andrew do not come along every day. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to get to know Andrew and to work alongside such an outstanding young man.

Sir,

Rest in peace.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 20 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

To family; friends; the Virginia State Police and all law enforcement officers, families and supporters. What is this unquestioned desire of an officer to serve their fellow man? For little monetary reward; yet great personal reward in knowing they made things better down here, in this sometimes very dark and evil place.
I speak to you; because you understand why they do it.
Why they choose to fight this never ending war.
They do it because it’s the right thing to do and they are driven by an inner desire to make things right and to protect the weak; the sick; the innocent; the young and the old; those who cannot protect themselves. They are the sheep dogs, that protect the sheep from the wolves in the darkness.
God has called you elsewhere to continue the battle; your loved ones to see you again one day.

With all respect; with tears and with prayers for strength
in this most difficult time.
