Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Eric Michael Workman

Every time I search someone I arrest I think of you and the sacrifice you made. The few times we talked you talked to me like you’d known me your whole life. Rest in peace brother.

Officer Austin Smith
Virginia Beach Police Department

Never to be forgotten. RIP sir.

Retired First Sergeant Thomas Webb

When Eric and me were in about sixth or seventh grade he told me “you have to stand up for yourself or they won’t leave you alone” as I was looking at his gym shoes that looked about two sizes too big. Not even making eye contact.
What he said stayed in my mind ever since and it made me a stronger person. Able to defend myself and weaker around me.
My friend Eric will live on in my heart as I strive to be the best man I can be every day until my last days.
I invite anyone reading this to do the same.

I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.
