Sgt. Boza was my grandfather's cousin. My grandfather was Joseph A. Karlowski, Detroit Police Dept. I noticed that Sgt. Boza's badge number was "unavailable." According to a picture of him in our family album, his badge number was 19. I just thought it would be nice to help complete the record for him. Although none of us was alive when he was killed, we are all proud of his courage and honored to be part of his extended family.

Your courage under fire was incredible! It would have been so easy for you to stay at the desk while other officers went to check the hold-up alarm....Your decision to get involved speaks highly of you personality, sense of duty, and honor!
