Reflections for Senior Police Officer Jaime D. Padron

This past weekend marked the anniversary of the day you were taken away from us. Its only been a year but it feels like just yesterday I got the heart wrenching news that you were gone.
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you! I'm still waiting on the day that I won't break down or tear up when I hear your name or see your picture. You've changed my life and I'll never forget you or the conversations we shared every morning over vanilla dunkin donuts coffee. :) You're truly and deeply missed!! RIP Jaime

Jaime ... today is the 1 year anniversary of your E.O.W. YOU are missed every minute of every day. You have left an unimaginable legacy ... you would be so proud of your wife Amy, Ariana and Olivia. They have shown the strength and courage you always knew they had. Please continue to watch over them - always. I have no doubt that you are as busy on the other side - as you were here on our earthly home. So many of the people you left behind miss and love you - you have left a void that no one will ever fill.

Approaching a year since you commenced standing watch over your brothers and sisters of The Thin Blue Line. Many visit your final resting place to reflect, pray, mourn and remember you, each in their own way. They carry you in their hearts daily. Some share a humorous story about your mischevious exploits. And some continue to honor your memory through their service to others. Eternal peace to you and those who love and miss you. Semper Fidelis!

as the anniversary approaches you have been on my heart lately, as you look down upon us watching over over your brothers and sisters in blue know that you are missed and have left a mark on everyone's lives you have touched. Remembering that night is something I do often praying that I am able to keep all my guys safe and when they need help I can get them more than enough as quickly as possibly. Sending my units to your call knowing it was you someone I called friend with tears running down my face I just couldn't seem to get them there fast enough I knew they were going as fast as they could but time was standing still. The 10 miles they had to travel seemed like 100 and all I could do was pray. Then your best friend suddenly came to mind and I started to pray for him, your significant other and your precious daughters would live a lifetime without you. Why things happen the way they do we will never know or why the good guys always seem to go before the bad beats me ... I am blessed to have known you, to count the times you ran 27's backwards and sometimes just to drive me batty makes me laugh. As an officer, a marine and a man no one will ever fill your shoes and you are missed by so many.

You did a job well done and left a mark of justice on this nation. I was at your funeral and was amazed at how many were there for you and your family. You always did what was right, stood up for the innocet and the weak, you are one of three who inspired me to do the job. Ill never forget what you taught me the first and only time we met. You said those who do the right thing for the right reason are the ones who who can say I did the best I could the best I knew how. RIP BROTHER WE GOT IT FROM HERE.

Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.

Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.

Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.

Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.

Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.

We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.

The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

For Jaime's Birthday:

"""On Your Birthday

No cake or candles here today
Or presents for you to open
Just love from family and friends who want to say
Happy Birthday, and that we're hoping
Somehow you can see and know
That we have not forgotten you
That we still remember, even though
You've departed from our view
And if you see us here below
And wonder why we care
It's just because we want to show
That a part of you is still here
You live within each memory's heart
And so you remain, even though we're apart

Ms. Padron,

I would love to get in touch with you about riding in honor of Officer Padron next May in the Law Enforcement United Bike Ride to National Police Week. I rode this year for my dad who was killed in 1998. My sister and I were the same age as your daughters at the time of his death and your story really resonated with me. I would love to ride in his honor and be able to pass on remembrance bracelets to you and your daughters. Please feel free to contact me, so I can explain more about this cause...

I hope your family is finding some comfort in these hard summer months and are surrounded with love from family and friends.
