Its already been a year my friend. And still feels like yesterday. I remember when I made a call for back up in the Confinment dorm and you were the first to come smashing through the door almost braking your arm with Sgt Durham right on your 6. And all those long boring nights sitting in F-dorm, you would keep us laughing all night. RIP my brother

Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.
Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.
Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.
Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.
Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.
We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.
The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

Sgt. Thomas, I am so sorry to hear of your passing. We've lost another hero to some scumbag. You were the same age as my son who does the same work you did. It's just hard to believe that someone with his whole life in front of him could pass that way. I tell my son every day to be careful. I know you guys are well trained, but you young guys think you're invincible. A lot of times you take unnecessary chances and you don't realize that in cause you your life. You guys have to realize that you are doing a dangerous job and need to be a little bit more careful. I'm pretty sure that your parents probably told you. Lots of times to be careful. Like I tell my son all the time. My condolences to your family and your friends like said before we have lost another young hero and not sad, but you will not be forgotten. Rest in peace hero

Its been a little over a month now, and we miss you so much. Davie and Nicole cry often. We still can not understand why this has happened and we never will. Next Tuesday Lake City is honoring the fallen heroes of this year, and you are one of them. Nicole says if she never hears bagpipes again it will be too soon. Emma sees you all the time and blows you kisses. We are all struggling to get through the day. But we just try to hold on to each other and make to make it through. We miss you we love you, Please continue to watch over us.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"
