White was right when he said , "Fight for your life with all your might" even at night with a bright lite, a bike or a kite. Dave loved his flags and parachutes! I didnt know Dave from ADAM when he found me.

My brother David not a day goes by that I don't think about you and that day. I only wish there was more I could have done for you when I saw you. It leaves a feeling of guilt with me when I think about your family and your children not getting to enjoy you like they should have. I'll see u when I get there bro.

Today is your birthday. How fitting that you were born on Veteran's Day. Never was there a more patriotic soul. How proud you were to be an American and serve your country, then to move forward and serve your community. I will always remember you at attention with a tear in your eye when you returned from Iraq. And how you represented the Sheriff's office on the Honor Guard. When you played Taps, tears fell. It was an honor to know you. A privilege to have served with you. A heartbreak to have lost you.

Det. David White's family, friends and co-workers just returned from the Florida Capitol where his name was added to the state memorial for fallen officers. Never have I seen such an out pouring of love and respect for a man. His parents, sister & brother-in-law, nephew, and of course his beloved wife & children are still grieving deeply. The love shown by his Band of Brothers was truly amazing. His narcotics unit, the Honor Guard he served with and his friends in the motorcycle unit were examples of all that we should be in law enforcement. This young man was someone special. He had the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. He felt there was dignity in work no matter what the job. He showed respect to everyone he met. He always looked for the positive and had a ready smile. The unfairness of his death will haunt all who knew him.

David White was a guy who was a great cop, but a better human being, friend, father, husband and family member.
He valued the guys in his unit and respected them and all others he encountered. He didn't know how to lie, cheat or steal. He served his country in Bosnia and Iraq and he wanted to make his community better. That a scumbag, who had been arrested more than 20 times killed him, is one of the greatest injustices ever. Dave will be remembered for his
kindness, big heart and willingness to help others. God Bless.

Dave,
I had lunch with your wife yeaterday. Actually, several "surviving spouses" from around central and north Florida met. She is incredible. You know she is a strong woman and she is honoring you daily in ways that would make you proud. I am sure you have found your brothers who were also taken to soon. Keep watch over us and the children we are trying to so hard to raise in your shadows.
