Dear Deputy Rottler, I would like to start off by saying happy Mother’s Day. I would also like to thank you for all of your hard work and courage throughout your career. Thank you for being one of the first female Deputies to go out on patrol and paving the way for the rest of us, we wouldn’t be where we are without you. Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us females who have dreams of becoming a Deputy Sheriff. Your Legacy will never be forgotten.

Although my mom Deputy Sheriff Charlene Rottler suffered for many years at the hands of a drunk driver that eventually took her life, while responding to a call for the citizens of Los Anegels County, I am blessed to have had her so long. She showed such courage and strength. She was a true pioneer and was the first female deputy in patrol for LA County Sheriffs Department. She paved the way for me to become one of the first female LAFD (firefighters for Los Angeles). Thanks Mom for being a true inspiration to all women and a big part of our History! Such a proud daughter.

It is a shame people do not recognize the Sheriffs and Police Officers of the pain they cause to their family when we lose one.

You and every Officer that gives the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe, I do thank you.

It is just to bad this had to happen.
