Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of all comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join you in your agonizing grief & remember you in my prayers.

It's been a month since you left us and I finally have enough strength to post something on here. Right now I'm sitting in my cruiser on night shift and I wanted you to know that you were the closest friend, the biggest supporter and the most wonderful father anyone could ever ask for... I miss you every second of every day but know that this isn't a permanent goodbye.
You taught me everything I know about this job and I am forever grateful. I hope to pass your knowledge to my son and I hope that I can be half the father to him that you were to me...
But remember, It's not goodbye... I'll see you later...
And remember, to all my brothers and sisters with a badge as my father would always tell me...
"Be careful out there..."

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

"Never forget what they did here. It is rather for us, the living, to be dedicated here to the great task remaining before us - that, from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here, gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."
President Lincoln

Father God, bless this HERO Officers family with strength, peace, and comfort, that only YOU can provide. Bless the Department family as they cope with the loss. Be there, Lord, as they cry out to You in the midnight hour. Cause them to know that You are there and will never leave their side. I paise You and honor You, Lord, for hearing this prayer. In Jesus' Matchless Name, Amen.
