Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of all comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join you in your agonizing grief & remember you in my prayers.
Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.
Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.
Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.
Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.
We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.
The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

"Never forget what they did here. It is rather for us, the living, to be dedicated here to the great task remaining before us - that, from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here, gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."
President Lincoln
Your sacrifice and last full measure of devotion will not be forgotten. RIP Brother

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Sergeant Castro-Berrocales. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.
From reading the reflections left for Abimael he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Abimael's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Abimael's life was about so much more than the way he died. Abimael will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Sergeant Castro-Berrocales, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been nine years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)
