Reflections for Sergeant Michael Andrew Boehm
I can not tell you how I still miss the sound of "ID 892" in the early morning hours. I am getting ready to ride next week for the Police Unity Tour in your honor. I know, like the day I rode for your funeral mass, you will be with all of us- watching over and protecting us along the way- just like you alway did on the street. I am saddened that we never had the oppertunity to make this ride together. It is and will be an honor to present your family with bracelets I ride with.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Sergeant Boehm. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.
From reading the reflections left for Micheal he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Michael's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Michael's life was about so much more than the way he died. Michael will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Sergeant Boehm, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been nine years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

Sgt. Boehm,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-not just as LEO but also when you served in the U.S. Army as well. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. After reading all the reflections left for you from your fellow officers all I can say is that I wish that I had the opportunity and privilege to have worked with you. I remember attending the Border Patrol Academy at FLETC Glynco back in '96 and saw how your officers conducted themselves with pride and professionalism. Your's was the only other Agency besides the Patrol that had formations, uniform inspections, marched and did real PT there.

Rest in Peace Mike. I'm always puzzled why the most noble always leave us the soonest. You were a good classmate and faithful friend while I knew you out here at the SFFO. I carry good memories in the bank. May God Bless your family with the wisdom and patience of your example.
Fair winds and following seas to you Michael Boehm.

"Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savored much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow."
~An Irish Blessing
Rest in peace Sergeant Boehm. We have the watch.

Mike, it is always sad when we lose a great officer but even worse when the world loses a great father. I can honestly say every conversation we had started by you asking how Brandi and the kids were doing. Your sincerity in that question was so genuine. We rarely talked about work because we were too busy telling stories about our family. My heart breaks for you, your wife, and your son.

I had the pleasure of sharing an office with Mike when we worked together at D-3. Our daily conversations and spirited discussions brightened my day.
The passion and dedication he demonstrated to those he supervised and the USPP was honorable and tireless. You are a good person who truly loved life!
Most of all, I will miss watching his face light up when he talked about his son-the look of pure joy and excitement. That light is now shining down on us all-you will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to Sgt. Boehm's wife, son, and family.

Sgt. Boehm, you were my supervisor for a few special events downtown and your professionalism was beyond reproach. When we assisted you on that call on 16th street with the flashing of the 10-32 in traffic, you remembered me and told me "if you EVER need any assistance while serving warrants in D3, I'm a phone call away". It may seem small but in the grand scheme of things, it meant a lot.
You will be missed & I pray that God continues to give strength to your wife and son as well as all of us in USPP.
Farewell brother....

For those of us that are hurting and knew Mike, I have to share this story to bring a smile to your face as Mike did to so many daily.
Mike, Gary Fuller, Sgt. Mike "Walley" Wallace " and I are the last of the Crime and Violence Task Force (I know this is dated, but worth it..read on). We are on patrol in MPD 6D, one of the worst parts of DC. Mike and Fuller get into a chase. They for some reason have radio trouble and do not hear Walley cutting the chase off. It happens. These are the next radio transmissions we hear: crash, need ambulance, suspect car on fire upside down, Fuller hurt, police car is on it's side, suspects bailing out. About this time Walley and I pull up to pure carnage. Car parts everywhere, suspect car on fire, Fuller using nice words to describe his pain for his injured hand, police car on it's side with Mike balanced on top of it and this is what Walley and I hear: " They went that o' way," while pointing to the apartment complex. Walley and I looked at each other and laughed. Mike really thought we should go look for the youngins' that were long gone. I still can picture him today standing on the side of the police car, with the smoke and flames behind him. That was Mike, he never quit even in the midst of absolute carnage.
It did not surprise me one bit when Mike came back and gave us all more time with him.
You, Mike, were one of the best. You will be missed and never forgotten. We will take care of your family. Rest in peace my friend.

Mike,
I have such fond memories of our time together in San Francisco. You always had the best sense of humor and you were so easy going.
I will always remember our midnight squad with Kushner, you, Brad, Ric and myself. We had such good times. I will cherish those Fourth of July assignments of riding trailbikes together with you, Brad and Pat.
My sincerest condolenences to the Boehm family. You will never be forgotten, may you rest in peace, brother.

Mike,
Rest in Peace....You touched the lives of many in our agency. I will always remember your smart decisions on the radio and the manner in which you guided your officers. My one regret is that i could never get you to come work with me. By the writings on this site, i can see that you were doing better service on the street. Thank You for your service my brother,

A Park Policeman died today
And a part of America died...
A piece of our country he swore to protect.
Will be buried with him at his side.
A young widowed mother must now work for her kids
And spend many a long, lonely night.
Yes, today a Park Policeman died.
While many sleep in comfort behind their locked doors
A Park Policeman put his life on the line
Now his ghost patrols the dark city streets.
And he stands at each new officer’s side,
He answered the call and of himself gave his all,
And a part of America died...

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

Well Sarge, The one thing I’m gonna miss is those many, many, many did I mention many? Emails of information you were always so happy to pass along. I know we always did not see eye to eye on things but you always took the time to help me when I needed it but when I was too stubborn to actually ask. Ill actually TRY and keep my locker locked and wear my name tag, well most of the time anyway.
See you on the other side…..
And by the way the Eagle should hover and not circle around our scenes. I know….. The Eagle shouldn’t hover….
