My Boyfriend works at the 75 Precinct Day Tour for the past 6 years and encountered Mr. Figoski a few times and always said how kind he was.
He still remembers how Mr. Figoski was struggling with something on the computer and when he showed him how to fix the issue he was so happy and thankful for my boyfriend's assistance.
When he arrived home from his funeral he was just devastated and the loss and seeing his family's anguish just gutted him.
I can only hope that when Mr. Figoski's family saw the thousands that attend his funeral that maybe perhaps there was some sort of comfort in that.

God Bless Pete Figoski and his Family!!!

Peter I never had the honor to work with you but i meet and work with alot of people that worked with you and let me tell you not one has said bad things. It broke my heart to see your Daughter cry when there hero father was taken from them. As i read these Reflections i get emotional thinking about the events and how they happened. May you rest in peace Brother i hope one day i will grow into the officer you were.

Rest easy, Detective. The unbelievable strength shown by your family in the wake of this tragedy is nothing short of inspiring. There is no doubt in my mind that you were an exceptional father.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Detective Figoski. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Peter he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Peter's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Peter's life was about so much more than the way he died. Peter will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Detective Figoski, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been nine years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

May the Lord have received you above when you left this mortal life. To all who read these words, let us not forget Peter and others like him in the emergency services who paid dearly for our right to live, the currency being his blood shed for us as Christ shed His for the whole world. Peter, you are a pure example of Christian scripture that says there is no greater love one can show than to be willing to give up their lives for others. Thank you, and God Bless the family you have left behind. I'll help keep the watch over them with others who will fight to protect them for life.

To Pete,
You are a true hero and incredible father to your girls. Though I never met you, I know people who you worked closely with and they honestly believed, you sir were an honest and true person that carried himself like a real man should. This is a true tradgedy and my heart and soul go out to your poor daughters. They are the ones that hurt the most from this and do not deserve such evil to have taken away that one very special person they get to call "Dad".
I hope the piece of garbage that ended your life rots during his own. He is a true coward and doesn't deserve to shine a shoe let alone breath air.
RIP my brother. I'm honored to be working in the same Department as you

To the Figoski daughters,

Your Dad represented the very best. The overwhelming response to his murder is a true testament to this dedicated and brave man. It is my heartfelt desire that the pain that each of you suffers today, soon transforms into warm and soothing memories of your beloved Dad.

May God bless and keep you
