Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Corey J. Diaz

I was in Corey’s academy class 90-27. Funniest guy in the place.Never without a funny remark about anything. Last time I saw him I was going to a met/yankee game at Shea stadium and ran into him working grabbing scalpers, taking there tickets , and giving them summonses.when I saw him he just started laughing showing me the stack of tickets he confiscated.Always left them laughing my brother.you were aces from the first day I met you. Left us way too some. Truly one of the great ones. I will always love you brother. RIP

Rest in Peace Corey. I knew Corey from working in 1 Police Plaza. He always had a smile on his face. I'm going for screening since I'm about to hit 25 years of active duty and I didnt realize that one of the screenings is named after him. Thank you Corey. May you rest in peace. I'm certain your still smiling.

Rest in peace my brother. Corey was in my company at the academy.C.O.90-27.He was a very funny guy.Always cracking me up .The last time I ran into him he was grabbing ticket scalpers at shea stadium during the met/yankee game.I was off duty going to the game with my family and I hear someone say my name. I turn around and see its Corey. We ask where you working,? Where you working? He shows me a fist full of game tickets with his summons book. I say that's not right man, guys just trying to make a buck. He laughs and shrugs his shoulders, with that big grin on his face. I just couldn't believe it when I heard of your death. It broke my heart .Another one of the good guys gone. He was a real funny guy.Made the academy a little bit easier to deal with. I love you Corey. Almost made it to 20 yrs.I still think about you from time to time.May God bless your family. And thanks for the laughs.and your friendship.
