Prayers! My husband is a deputy and I can only image the pain, hurt and sickness that this officers wife and children go through everyday of their lives. I remember when this happened, only 30 mins away from our town. It has bothered me ever since. Prayers from the fielding family!

I was a victim back in 2002 of the person who killed this officer and I am heart broken to see he continued on his evil path and Sgt Chapin's life was taken. I am sure he was a wonderful person who brought joy to many people's lives. For the rest of my life I will pray for his family to find peace.

I am thankful for the Chapin family.
Lord, please continue to give them comfort because this will never pass. There will never be closure for them. The pain, hurt and tears will always flow, but we know that you can bring comfort to them.

Tim, you faced the ultimate danger in the line of duty and handled it like everyone knew you would, courageous and went ahead of your men. That's a real leader everyone should strive to be like. Love ya man, be seeing you again soon.

We remember. We love. We carry on. I know you are proud of both your "personal family" and your "work family" for the way they've handled all of this madness with extreme grace under severe pressure. We miss you, but we know that we will see you again.

I did not know Sgt. Chapin personally but I knew who he was. What I leared through his death was that he was a GREAT MAN, husband, father, son, friend, christian, officer and HEREO!! His death affected me in a way I cannot explain yet. Sgt. Chapin has made me want to be a better person/officer. To see how many lives he touched was very moving! I just regret that I did not get to know you personally. THANK YOU for your SERVICE and SACERFICE!! You are a TRUE HERO and role model! RIP!

Happy New Year Sergeant Chapin. Strangers still ask about you and give their condolences. I like to tell them about you but I don't think they always believe me because I tell them how great and kind were & how devoted to God and to your family you were. It's hard to believe anyone could be so good. I'm sorry we never made it to that hockey game. You're missed everyday.

It's the holidays now and everyone misses you. I watched a tribute to you last night and it seemed like yesterday I watched the doves fly away as your last call echoed through Chattanooga.
You are a hero. You are my hero.
