Dave,

It has been less that one month since we lost two other brothers in this fight against evil. You did not die in vain because you chose, "To fight the good fight, bare the burdens, and suffer the tribulations".

You will never be forgotten...Go easy my brother your time in hell is over. We have it from here.

In December we lost our brother DFC Brandon Coates. Your agency is going thru alot this year with another one of your brother's lost in the line of duty. Here's a poem for all in the St. Petersburg Police Department.

"A Part of America Died"

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.

The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend many long, lonely nights.

The beat that he walked was a battle field too,
just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.

Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line.

Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all,
and a part of America died.

My heart and prayers go out to the family and the St. Petersburg PD. We lost a brother in 2004 and it was a very difficult time for our department. I cannot imagine losing three of my fellow officer’s period, let alone in a month’s time. May God be with you all and comfort you in this unbelievably difficult time.

Fellow Officer

We lost two fine officers only a month ago, and now we say goodbye to another. I remember all the police and helicopters last night, and there's still 100 officers combing the area looking for this shooter. My deepest sympathy goes out to Officer Crawford's family. This is certainly a wake up call to the citizens of St.Petersburg

May god bless you and keep you, for now you are in the Kingdom of Heaven. You will be missed. Please keep watch over your brother and sisters in law enforcement. Know that your comrades are hard at work looking for the scumbag who took you away from your loved ones. This war on police is getting ridiculous and we need to protect each other. God Bless the St Pete Police Department.
