I visit the ODMP pages from time to time. I have reflected on this page which is the first on the list. So my reflection is intended to cover every single entry onwards. To read of so many officers killed over the years, knowing the dangers of the job is tragic. Yet others carry on and protect the public. They are "ALL" heroes.
Bless the loved ones left behind.

Thank you Sir, for your service and sacrifice to help found this country, as well as your service and sacrifice in law enforcement. Today many Veterans (myself included) find our way to continued public service in law enforcement. You have set the example for many who have followed.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 210th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your sacrifice was made so many years ago. Evil was, is, and will be a part of life just as goodness such as yours will also be present.

Rest In Peace

Sheriff,

Your name is inscribed on the wall immediately next to a dear friend of mine. Please take him under your wing. Shepherd him through, and continue to watch over all of us who, 220 years later, continue your mission protecting and defending this great country.
