I am privileged to pay tribute to you. Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace, Rest In Peace

Just found out today of this sad event. I didn't know officer Fernau, but having the same unusual last name, we are certainly related. I wish I had known this man and hope his family, friends and co-workers are healing from this loss.....

It was an honor for my wife and I to give your father a memorial band for your badge that he is now carrying all the time. Your sacrifice is now properly recognized for all eternity.
