While it is no consolation for your loss, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of Officer Hayes.

While I did not have the privilege to have known him personally, I am certain that he has found a place in heaven through his selfless service to those he swore to protect.

My thoughts and prayers for the family & friends of Tom. I never met Tom in person but we spoke often over the phone about the National Conf. of Law Enforcement Emerald societies & Police Work. I was always updated on Tom by Dewey Stokes when we would see eachother at FOP functions. I met Toms wife years ago when she stood with Maureen Faulkner when we had a silent protest at some liberal college in Ohio who had invited the killer of her husband Danny to speak by audio message at their graduation ceremony. I know Tom was a great artist and received Christmas cards from him that he did for the Cleveland Browns. He will always be remembered by me for his courage & dedication in dealing with his condition from his injury & his dedication to the Columbus Police Dept. May God grant him eternal rest and watch over his family & the CPD.
