Words can't express the pain bro. In just the short time I've worked with you, I can't imagine working with a more personable kind of guy. You made the day worth coming to work. I'm glad I got to see you Wednesday afternoon and walk with you. That is a 5 minute walk that I will cherish for life. I think our immediate bond had something to do with our height, but I'm ok with that and I'm blessed that you are a part of my life. I love you bro.

For Detectives Roger Castillo & Amanda Haworth:

The duty of the law officer is a hazardous one. One of the most dangerous tasks is the confrontation with a the felon who will kill as quick as look at those who would apprehend him. We regret that our brother Roger and our sister Amanda would encounter what most of us have been fortunate enough to have avoided either during our shift or our career. At the same time we laud the efforts of those assisting Roger and Amanda and who brought down a vicious killer.

We pray for both of the detectives families, friends, co-workers and all who care about them. May the be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

As a retired state trooper and a Lake County (FL) Deputy Sheriff, I am proud to render Detective Roger Castillo and Detective Amanda Haworth a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police
