Another year marking the date you left us, and We miss you like if it were yesterday. I still remember your jokes and your antics and sometimes i'll just laugh by myself remembering things you would do. I sometimes wish you would have stayed on our squad and maybe things would be different. Its amazing how we take our friends for granted. Because of you i learned to love life and live every moment to the fullest. and to tell your family and friends you love them while you still have them. I thank God for having you and Debbie as my partners and as my friends. I miss you buddy and will never forget you. Love you and Debbie always

Thank you Brooke, that was so beautiful. Those days are such a blur. Some things I remember and some things I have to be reminded of . I've been told it's a way of our minds protecting ourselves from such deep pain. Reading this give me peace. I'm sure we've met before but I would hate for you to be around me one day and me not acknowledge you as Beooke. I'm pretty absent minded lately so please don't leave without saying hi and saying "I'm Brooke"! Thank you so much for being by his side. He was an amazing man, husband, son, father, friend etc... The list is endless. Thank you for your words. Although your words are not nearly as beautiful as your heart. Xoxo!

I sat with Roger the entire day of his wake. I was his assigned guardian officer that day. I was there to protect him. As I sat there looking at him all day, I cried for him. I cried for his wife and children. I prayed for him, and I prayed for his family to endure a strength I knew I did not have. I had never met him in life but learned so much from him after his passing. And I thank him for that. I never left his side that entire day. I remember as we went downstairs with him, I remember feeling the anxiety of his wife and children coming. I had no words to make any of them feel better or make the pain stop. I could not concieve of anything worse. When his wife and children walked into the building, I took a deep breath. At that point I could feel how much he was loved and how important he was and it gave me peace. He mattered and his life mattered. I know how greatly he is missed and I also know how proud of his wife and kids he would be. I hope you rest in eternal peace and continue to look after your fellow officers, your wife and boys. May God bless you all.

Going on five years since you've been gone and missing you as always. Sometimes I still can't believe this happened. The boys are becoming men and it hurts so much that you are not here with us to go through all the changes, from boyhood to manhood. What keeps me going is believing that we will all be together one day again. I can't imagine never seeing you again. You will always be in my heart and very soul. Loving you forever....

Your wife and best friend.

On days like this i miss you very much and wish i could pick up the phone and talk to you. I come back to this memorial often to see if any recent reflections have been posted; no surprise that every time I see one that your wife, Debbie left, I am brought to tears. She writes beautifully, and with such raw emotion. You can feel her hurt and you know how deeply and just how much she misses you.

I didn't know you personally, in-fact, I don't even live in Florida. But I remember first hearing about you from HBTB documentary, and ever since then, it's not rare that I think about you; or Amanda. And especially not rare that I think of both of your families; and say a prayer.

You are not forgotten, and Debbie, if you're reading this... Remember you are never, ever alone.

Una Stamus forever, and Merry Christmas.

Roger, This doesn't get any easier. Every year I attend the Memorial at Tropical Park along with my husband (Disabled) Captain from the Hialeah Police Department. I spoke briefly to Debbie and saw your son's at their mom's side. Debbie is such a trooper she smiles and greets the colleagues that I am sure you and she knew together but I could see that she is so trying to stay strong for them and herself. She is to put it mildly an amazing woman and Police officer. Being a LEO wife for many years I have also experienced the loss of many friends and co workers. you were taken much too soon Roger I believe that you are looking down on her and the boys and thinking GREAT JOB as she reflects back on your lives together be sure of one thing. SHe misses you and loves you with all her hear and soul. RIP Roger We will meet again in the Kingdom of GOD

I came across your name and that of your partner and wanted to visit your page and leave a message. Thank youf or your dedicated service to others and to law enforcement. I have no magic words to offer to help those that love your dearly and have to live with the broken hearts that may never heal. Continue to watch over them, wrap your wings around them and help protect them and ease their grief. You will never be forgotten.

As I'm sitting here today reading posts from family and friends of other officers that have also died in the line of duty, one thing is clear. The boys were so fortunate to have had you in their lives 15, 12 and 9 years. Some kids never got to meet their dads and know them only through stories and pictures. You left such a mark on them and I am forever grateful to have met and married such a wonderful man and father to my boys. I've been "strong" as people say but, deep down I am and will always be devastated by your sudden departure from this world. I know that I have to live my life and I do so with a heavy heart. I miss my normal life and family but I have to adjust to this "new normal" as everyone calls it. I know that if you could communicate with me right now, you'd say "I'm so proud of my wife". Everything I've done until now has been knowing that I'd have your blessing. Every new event that happens, you are the first person that comes to mind....Anthony with his first girlfriend right after you passed, his ring ceremony, getting his drivers license, his first car and now becoming a senior. Mikey also having his first girlfriend right after you passed, going into high school, playing basketball, getting much taller than you and me (which is not hard :)) soon getting his learner's permit. Bryan being a little version of you, loving as always but a handful, almost my height, going into middle school, playing basketball. So many new events and you are present in our hearts and minds everytime we have one. So many more memories to make without you. It hurts. I really believe that my dad gave you my message when he met you in heaven. We miss you now, always and forever.
