Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“ uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place. As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say its ok you’re with your eternal partners. A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

The thoughts are difficult to deal with. A terrible tragedy for anyone, especially one so young and vital. I'm told we're not supposed to question God's Wisdom. I keep telling myself that He must have a good reason to take Chris at this time in his life. My husband, Joe and I send our Deepest Sympathies to loved ones left behind. Know that Chris is Safely Home. Cousin, Ellie in Virginia

God Bless Christopher, his fiancee, and family. I sit here in tears, so sad at such a loss. My son is an officer, same age, engaged, and so dedicated to his job. I did not know you Chris, but I so admire you. You became a police officer, knowing all the risks, and still went out there and did your job. Thank you.

Chris, I can not believe what happened yesterday. Someone had bigger plans for you than what you were doing, it sucks because we all hurt and preferred to have you with us here. I will miss those smart comments, and sarcastic remarks. Thanks for the time you spent with us. We had a good time. See ya when I see ya.

I am so sorry for your loss. It seems like nearly everyday I get an alert that another police officer has been killed.
It is so sad that the men and women who put their life on the line to protect and serve cannot be respected, some idiot has to come along and take it all away.
I live my dream of being a police officer through all of those who put that gun and badge on everyday to try and make this world a better place.
Thank you officer Matlosz for the sacrifice that you made, you will always be in my heart, and your family also and in my prayers.

It saddens and sickens me to think about the current state of affairs in our own cities and towns. I would love to increase our interior defense units on the streets one hundred fold. I would love to see a policeman on every corner in every town and city across this great country of ours. We need to invest in us, the USA. Can we get funding please to make sure that no officer goes out alone, ever? I personally do not have any problem with arming these brave warriors to the teeth...automatics, kevlar bodysuits from head to toe. I am in tears over someone who I did not know; and I feel for those closest to him....family, friends, fellow officers. Please turn your sorrow into positive energy when you are ready so that we can start to initiate change in the status quo. I can be found through email...[email protected] I will and can be a very powerful voice and supporter.

My deepest condolences.
