John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

I personally worked with officer cooper at stateville correctional center...he was a good officer and he was always happy and fun to be around... as a new officer he gave me good advice on how to do my job better....I will always remember him...today at the training academy I will mention the incident that happened to COOPS that was my nickname for officer cooper.... so that officer coopers name will always live on in honor and maybe we can all take something positive from his sacrifice in the line of duty....

To the family, friends and colleagues of Corrections Officer Cooper: I am so very sorry for your loss. As another person mentioned, even if we don’t know each other, we are all family. My husband is a Corrections Deputy, so I have a deep appreciation for the service, and sacrifices, made by Corrections Officer Cooper. He will never be forgotten! I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all!

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. Continue to keep watch over all of them and also those who still work in corrections protecting all of us from the animals. I spent over 30 years in law enforement and always had a special place in my heart for those working in corrections as you are the thin blue line between us and them. Thank you.

I did not know C/O Cooper but my prayers are with his family. We in corrections are all family. What a waste. All because a judge thought he knew better. I hope the judge knows what happened to C/O Cooper.

I had the Honor and Privilege of working with Officer cooper for 8 years. Not only was he firm, fair and consistent he had the most incredible attitude and sense of humor. He was a true example of what an Officer should be, he was my comrade and my brother and I'm proud to say he was my friend...I miss you COOP...Love You Brother...

Officer Cooper,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Illinois. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer. My feelings towards that judge and young punk are the same as several of the other people who left reflections here. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
