I only now stumbled upon this site, and Mike's was the first name I looked up. It would be remiss of me to say that Mike and I were close buddies, as I only knew him for perhaps a year. I had the good fortune of working along "Gallagher" and even met his sister (a fellow BP agent) once or twice. Mike was a fun guy and he got work done. I was fortunate enough to have him as a trainee at the station before he rolled on his own. A good guy, funny, and a hard worker. I left the BP only a month or two before his passing. It saddens me that such an honest and hard-working guy perished on that miserable reservation. I had some other BP buddies who were on hand when he was struck, so I'm glad to know he was not alone in his last moments. It's been a while, but Mike - you're always on my thoughts.

I was honored to be a guest speaker today here in Columbus, Ohio to members of the Columbus Field Office of the US Custom and Border Protection. The training was regarding OVI Enforcement and drunk driving awareness named in your memory. It was a pleasure sharing my story of enforcement and being a victim of drunk driving in a training class named in your memory..

Michael was a great little brother; precocious, funny and lovable. I was two years old when he was born, and am grateful for the 32 years I had to know him, love him, and share him with the world. Thank you to the Border Patrol and the Army, who gave him a wonderful memorial service last week. It was amazing to see the hundreds of people who came to pay their last respects. I love you, Mike.
