For Acting Policeman W.R. (Sandy) Lawson:
The law officer's job, especially in the early part of the century, was never an easy one. Heavy responsibility, just as today, was upon the shoulders of anyone brave enough to step forward and make lawful arrests. Added, was the lack of advanced training, not to mention the absence of radios, telephones, and other means of quickly summoning of aid. Still, courage, bravery and incredible risk was the same as today. Our brother Sandy may have been without the modern devices, but his stalwart pride, tremendous courage and esteemed prowess in action was second-to-none. He stood as a tremendous example and great model for all law officers to follow. We stand in complete awe at his unusual courage, as well as marvel at his amazing determination and strength in battle. May our God provide him with a special place in eternity,
We pray for him and his decendants, and truly hope that they look back upon this special hero in their family lineage. He was a noble and gallant soldier-of-the-law. May they forever hold him dear to their hearts.
I stand here humbled, with full admiration for this hero of heros, and proudly render him a heart-felt and final salute.
