Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.

Chief Duncan, thank you for your service. You would be proud of the agency you left behind. The commitment of your officers to the service of others is a reflection of your leadership. Even though it's been a year since your death, it still saddens me. My heart goes out to your family, your friends and your law enforcement family, our brothers and sisters, at Lake Oswego Police Department. Godspeed, sir.

For Chief of Police Daniel K. Duncan:

Being the chief of a department for some might mean being more of a administrator than an actual law officer in the thick of the action. For Dan it was not being hesitant to perform the duty that he surely expected of every law officer beneath him. We regret that in the process of illustrating his dedication to the fundamental duties of all of us who wear a badge that it would lead to complications and then his death. He stands tall as a hero among heros.

We pray for Dan's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they stand ready to support one another as the needs might present themselves.

I am proud to render Chief Dan Duncan a final salute.
