Reflections for Officer David Lamar Curtis

We have never met, but I know you. I know the way you put on the uniform. The way you prepare for another shift. The way you say good bye to your family and pray you can get home to say hello. The way you put yourself in harms way for the citizens you swore to protect. At times without so much as a thank you. The way you watch over your fellow officers. The way you muster up enough strengh on those crazy days so you can go to the next call and do it all over again. The pride you feel when all of your hard work pays off. The way you deal with the stress of this profession. The way you feel when you finally get home to your family. To the hugs and kisses as they ask "how was your day".
My brother we have never met.........but I know you! Thank you for being a HERO. May the good lord watch over your family and keep them safe.

My heart goes out to Officer Curtis' family and the TPD law enforcement family. As the wife of a Law Enforcement officer, I cannot begin to imagine the pain that you and your family are going through. I pray that God give your wife and family the strength to deal with the loss of an amazing husband / police officer. Thank you for your service.

My heart is saddened by this great, and seemingly senseless, loss to the LEO community, your family, and the community of citizens who respect the job each LEO does. May each of you feel God's presence now and in the days and months to come.

My heartfelt sympathy and my prayers are with you all. RIP Officer Curtis.

well let me say your family was the best to have next door until you guys moved about well a year this month, when you guys lived next door it was nice having a police car parked there it made it feel safer and your work stories were always great, and the love between you and Kelly was amazing you two were so cute, and your boys well amazing kids and Jacob really misses being able to play with them everyday, although after seeing where you moved I would have done the same thing, just beautiful. Thank you for all the stories and everything you guys invited me and my son too do with your family, I'm all-ways here for them if they need me or my family for anything. May you rest in peace..... Always your friends Ana and Jacob :/

God has received another loving, honorable dedicated brother of high integrity into his ranks of law enforcement in heaven. All of your new partners are also deserving and honorable brothers and sisters in the badge and they too paid the ultimate in service to God's children here. Those brothers and sisters left behind will keep your name and your record of loving service alive in the memories of Gods children here and they will care for your family. Your new supervisor also paid the ultimate to ensure the ability to enter into God's kingdom and serve on His police Dapartment. Rest in peace brother. In Christ.
