To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

We shall never forget our 9/11 heroes.

I worked with Gary in Midtown South, we were out of the same academy class, he was in the same squad as me in training. Gary immediately made an impact on my young career, teaching me how to laugh at all the chaos around us. I asked him to be in my wedding party when I got married and at the reception he sang "Summer Wind". A great man, and an even better friend.

A loss of a truly gentle, caring, and professional man.
As a friend when we were young, I knew he was going to do good things.
I will never forget Gary, and I'm sure for all who knew him, he will be missed in a big way.

Dear Officer Mausberg,

As a fellow first responder my heart is heavy for the sacrifice you have made and that your loving family must endure. In our choice of profession we have openly decided to put the welfare of others ahead of our own. There are times when this choice is paid for in precious blood. You and your family are and will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Your Brother In Arms,

Patrick J. LaRotonda, NYPD; ret.
