My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. My wife and I are still numb in disbelief. Dan, I want to thank you for being such a great dad, not only to your daughter, but to mine. The many weekends I would come home to find out my daughter was staying the weekend with your family, or the camping trips you would take her on, I always knew she was in great hands with you and your wife. The CD you made of the girls last camping trip is something I will always cherish, you are going to be truly be missed but not forgotten. Rest in Peace my friend, you and your family will always be in our prayers. I just hope I can end up being half the dad you were.

I write this with profound sadness that Danny had to end his watch at such an early age, but write I must, because Danny did his duty. He proudly served his state and country and thus will never be forgotten. As long as there are badges on shirts and hearts in our chests, we will think fond memories of our past brethren.

Danny can now rest in peace, having served with distinction and honor.

To his family, I say thank you for your sacrifice and I pray you will spend more time enjoying the memories of Danny, than in remorse over his passing.

LORD, I ask for courage
Courage to face and
conquer my own fears...
Courage to take me where others will not go... I ask for strength
Strength of body to protect others,
and strength of spirit to lead others...
I ask for dedication
Dedication to my job, to do it well
Dedication to my community
to keep it safe...
And please, LORD, through it all,
be at my side...
