Chris , you sat next to me in the academy 93-61 . We had many laughs . I have a video of the day we got our shields and gun and also our assignments and you got the 77 . The story toumtold how you drove from Texas and your car broke down on the Verrazano as you were trying to get to New York to be sworn in ..... I’ll never forget you ! One of a kind ! Chris,

I don't know if you remember me, but I was in Houston with you when you moved to NY. We celebrated your leaving by going to that little Italian restaurant (you had ravioli - you ate it all and said "is that it?). I visited you in NY that first Thanksgiving on my way back from Europe, and we ate Thanksgiving dinner at that little restaurant, along with your roommate. You wanted to take me to see the parade but I decided it was too cold! :)

And I was there (along with your mom and brother) when you graduated in the spring of '94. I still have a picture of us standing in front of an NYPD car. We never saw each other again after that but I have thought about you often over the years, as has my brother (who is now retired from the sheriff's dept).

I never could track you down on/after 9/11 but was thinking of you then, as I am today - and thinking of your wife and family. My prayers are with them today and always.

Today I was thinking of you. For some reason I started thinking of the time you and I were play fighting in the precinct basement, and I pushed you into a wall causing it to collapse on you. We laughed about that for years, I will never forget how hard Mark laughed.We shared some great times. Rest in peace my friend.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
