I can't really put into words what I'm feeling. I lived in Washington for 3 years, and always missed it. Thank you for keeping me and my family safe and protected while we were there.

I will keep you in our prayers, and hope to meet you one day.

I prayed for a Christmas miracle that just wasn't meant to be. I pray you are resting safely in heaven Deputy Mundell. I am tired of going to police funerals, and sadly, as some have said, we are getting very used it in Washington. I don't want to get used to it - I don't think I ever will. Thank you for your service and dedication. You will NEVER be forgotten.

Dear Kent,

What do I possibly say to tell you how much I miss you right now, and how many times I have prayed for your recovery since last week's horrible day? What do I say to tell you how that impromptu conversation about how to fix windows would be the last time I would speak to you on the phone, and how I'd give anything right now to hear your voice telling me a joke? What can I possibly say to tell you how much you meant to my family since you rang our doorbell that first time in 1983? What can I do, Kent, to tell you how much your loss has affected my brothers and sisters who comfort each other at this time of sorrow to remember you?

For those times you cranked out some music for us on admin and greeted us everyday with a "Wooo hooo!", I just can't imagine the air without hearing you on it. Kent, you will be missed dearly. I wish I could come up with something even remotely close to tell you how I feel right now, but no words can even begin to describe my heavy heart. You will always leave a smile on my face as I remember and cherish the time I got to spend with you. Rest well, Kent, and know that you are loved by so many. May the Lord bless you and welcome you, and watch over your family as you continue on your journey with Him.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." ~ Matthew 5:9

Until I heard the news, I held out hope that you would make it. My thoughts are with your family and co-workers. It has been a rough two months for law enforcement in western Washington. My thoughts are with all police officers out there who risk their lives everyday to keep everyone safe.
