Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. Wrap your wings around all of your loved ones and protect them from harm. Help them with their grief as I know they miss you beyond words. I wish you could have experienced retirement as you deserved it after the long career in law enforcement serving others. It takes a very special person to do this job and you are one of those individuals. Thank you for your dedicated service to law enforcement and others. You will never be forgotten.

With one year coming up, just wanted to let family, friends and co-workers know I've been thinking about all of you. You lost Cagle about a week after we lost one. Myself and another officer attended Cagle's funeral. For some of us, it hasn't been too tough a year. For some of us it has. A lot of thoughts have returned this past week on our man Philip's anniversary. Thoughts about you guys have also arisen. I've got all of you in my many prayers. Take good care of yourselves.

My thoughts are with all of your loved ones during this very trying time. I know the daily struggle they face without you being here with them for I walk in their shoes. I have no magical words to help them with their grief except that they talk about you to anyone who will listen and ask others that may have known and worked with you to share their stories of you with them. By doing this, it will keep your memory alive. Thank you for your dedicated service to law enforcement. I only wish you could have retired and enjoyed the time off that you earned after your many years of dedicated service to law enforcement. You will never be forgotten.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Dennis was tragically killed.
To Officer Cagle's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the many years of dedicated service Dennis gave to his community and the citizens of Tennessee, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on December 13, 2009.

Dennis was a good friend who inspired my career as a law enforcement officer. He would always say, "Treat everyone the way you want to be treated". Those words of wisdom have lasted 18 years of my career. Thanks Dennis and may God bless your family.

To the men and women of Henderson P.D., you have our deepest condolences. That is extended to the surrounding agencies who police alongside you. There are no statements that can be made which will ease what you are going through. We at Pelham are still dealing with the loss of our brother Philip Davis. To offer a few words, I can only say that the one thing that will carry you guys through is each other, more than anything. You, like us, are feeling things that have probably never been felt before. Stay strong for each other and your families. It will be time to return to full duty soon, and it will be hard.... very hard. We were at the funeral, and we saw the love your community had for your department; the same our community had for our department. Take solace in that fact, and the fact that although we in law enforcement are far apart at times, tragedy will show us how close we really are, and how much caring we have for one another. Cagle protected the people he lived with, went to church with, rode with, and I assume grew up with. These same people will help take care of his family in the upcoming months and years. When it comes down to moments like this, we are there for one another. Cop and citizen alike. Stay strong, be safe, and stay alive; especially when you return to duty. Keep talking with one another and keep checking on one another. Try to get back to eating and sleeping normally, for your safety's sake, and for that of your fellow officers. You are prayed for and thought about during all of this.
May justice be swift and vicious for the man who did this. God have mercy on us for our anger.
