Deputy Sheriff Robert Lee Bain was my grandmother's (Kate Alene Bain Tritt) older brother. She often talked about him and the tragic circumstances of his death. She would have been so honored and proud to see his sacrifice remembered.

Deputy Robert L Bain was my grandfather and I am proud that you have recognized his sacrifice. I would like to correct an error in the spelling of his last name. His last name was : Bain, no "e".

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 96th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
