It's been two years from when the NYSP notified me of your death. Just as we were back then, we remain here for your family and Kellie. Your brother and sister in law have been involved in our Chapter and while they still hurt and miss you, they are now giving support and guidance to the new survivors. My heart is so heavy; especially with starting a new year again without you. Some days it feels like the last 14 months have flown by and others it feels like im standing still. Not a day has gone by that your not the first thing I think about when I wake up; my heart breaks over and over when I realize it's true and not a dream that your gone. Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Thank you for serving in the military as well.

Saw your picture hanging on the Wall of Honor at the Academy this week and it is just sticking in my mind. It was an honor and privilege to work with you, but beyond that, it sure was fun. Missed you so much today..so hard to live without that grin...missed how you would tease Steve by signing your card from your favorite son... Steve keeps you alive... He bought me a blue spruce tree today to make a garden to put the flag pole by. Someday I can have his children help decorate Uncle David's tree. You would have been the best Uncle and you would have been a great Dad....We laughed today as we know you were messing with printers at Uncle Chris and with Steve's printer...Oh how we miss you.... Thinking of you a lot lately. I was in Washington DC today. I went to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. This is the place where you will have your name engraved. This is the place where I can take my kids to show them what a hero you are. I will always talk of Uncle Dave with the utmost respect, but more importantly with a smile on my face. I know that is the way you would want it. Love you

I served with David in Iraq in 2003. He was a good soldier and I was and I am proud to say I served with him.My heart goes out to his family and friends. He was a good soldier, trooper, and man.
