Reflections for Special Agent Chad L. Michael

Chad, I don't even know where to start. It is just about to be a year now, and this world is not the same without you. I still remmeber waking up and getting on the computer to check the news, and remember seeing an article about a heilo crash in afghanistan that had DEA agents and some military. I just knew something was not right. As the day progressed I got a Call from my father, and he told me the news. It was heart breaking. After doing a lot over at DEA MFD for a while helping out, you became a good friend. I miss you, DEA MFD misses you. Chad I will see you on the other side my brother.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

I still remember the day that I got the call. You were one of my best friends and it has taken me nearly a year to accept that you are gone. Rest in peace, papo. I'll see you on the other side.

If tears could build a stairway,
And memories were a lane.
I would walk right up to heaven,
To bring you home again.

No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knows why.

My heart still aches in sadness,
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.

You and angels around Gods happy throne.
I would have held you closer if I had known

I'm not sure where to even begin. With heavy heart I say goodbye to one of our best friends for my husband and I...but not for forever, just for right now. Chad was an amazing friend, co-worker to my husband and not to mention amazing at what he did. You paid the ultimate sacrifice, and that Chad, will NEVER be forgotten. I am so thankful to have know such an determined, commited person in his fight to keep the peace; not to mention just simply one of the most kind and funniest person I've ever met.

Chad, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service...doing what you loved and were made to do...and for keeping us all safe at night for the years of your watch as well. It's unimaginable what your family must be feeling right now but I hope they find some comfort in knowing what a blessing you were to so many people you came across, touched and helped. Your a hero in so many ways Chad. Tell Thor Thor hello for us and give him a pat, will you? God Speed...Linsey Hay-proud Wife of K9 Deputy Jason Hay and proud friend to Chad Michael...

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

I'm not sure what is more deadly...the war on terrorism or the war on drugs. You were very courageous and steadfast in
doing what was best. Not easiest, but definitely what was
needed. Thank you for your tremendous sacrifice to make the
world a better place and for the high cost you paid.
