Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff James Conner

On this Christmas Day please know that no passage of time can ever erase your service and sacrifice. Rest in peace always.

James Conner (Uncle Jim) as my Mother, Lillian B. Conner Poe, always referred to him. Uncle Jim was the brother to Momma's Father, William Allan Conner. One of my earliest memories was listening to Grandpa's stories, one of them being the "Shootout in South Pittsburg, Tn. Momma was 4 when the "Shootouts" happened but she grew up listening to the terrible account. Grandpa stilled expressed great loss. Uncle Jim also left behind a family. He is buried in the South Pittsburg Cemetary. I do not know the name of the Cemetary.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 84th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I was saddened to see that Christmas Day is the eow for so many, many officers. Rest In Peace.
