I feel so sorry for his family and to all the other agents protecting and serving for this country. He used his own life for every single person living in America and I appreciate that. Also because my father worked there and know what it feels to feel that someone special is in a dangerous spot.

I just saw a story about your death on TV.....my heart goes out to your family, and the rest of the US Border Patrol who has the nearly impossibly job of continually protecting our boarders from illegal immigrants. Having come from the Campo Station, I think of you often as I was very familiar with the area you worked. It could have been any one of us. My heart is heavy for your wife and children. The Patrol takes care of its own and I know you have fellow PA's that will always check on them. No one knows what it is like to work the remote canyons alone except another PA - you are truly one of the bravest.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Robert, I will be doing my best to honor your life and sacrifice this May 9'th-12'th when I participate in the 2010 Police Unity Tour. I, along with about 500 other LEO's from around the country and world, will be making a 300 mile trek on out bicycles from NJ to DC in remembrance and honor of all LEO's lost in the line of duty. My name is Officer Damian Jackson with the Escondido Police Department and the Senior Recruit Training Officer for the Palomar Police Academy. I began my law enforcement career, almost thirteen years ago as a US Border Patrol Agent, here in the San Diego Sector at the Temecula Station.
Almost five years ago, I had a small idea that took off and became something very special and unique here at the academy. It started with Officer Isaac Espinoza of the San Francisco Police Department, who was killed in the line of duty in April of 2004…
As a police officer and father of three daughters, I wanted to make a point in our training about the realities behind our profession and how dear we hold our families and the sacrifices they make each day we venture out and confront evil on our streets. What started off as a reflection, then a training point, became a cause that we would do an extra push-up for in remembrance each time we hit the ground. It became a dedication and a purpose.
Officer Espinoza started a tradition here and became the first officer that we memorialized through our academy program. He was a man, husband, father and brother officer to honor and hold within our hearts and souls as we did this job and sent new officers out into to world to face what so many did before us. We started a new tradition of dedicating each and every academy class from that point forward, to a fallen officer from our state and to memorialize them forever within our halls and within our hearts so that no one will ever forget and all who come here will leave here and enter their careers with that extra angel in heaven guarding their journey. Class 12 dedicated their year of training in the honor and memory of Officer Isaac Espinoza of the SFPD, who took his place on our "Hall of Warriors" here at the academy. Through the efforts of the class and their new found mission, they raised more than $12,000.00 to donate to Isaac's 4 year-old daughter's trust fund and make his family a special part of our graduation ceremony. It was something that neither I, nor anyone else who had a part of it will ever forget…
Classes have since dedicated their years of training in the honor and memory of Officer Tony Zeppetella, of the Oceanside Police Department, Officer Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg (CA) Police Department, Officer Dan Bessant of the Oceanside Police Department, Officer Sergio Carrera of the Rialto Police Department and Deputy Jeff Mitchell of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
Class 19 of the academy is set to begin their training and I would be honored if you would allow us to dedicate Class 19 of the Palomar Police Academy - San Diego, in the honor and memory of Agent Robert Rosas; your husband, father, son and brother, where he will forever be a part of our lives and will forever be with us as a warrior among our halls. I give you all the assurances that this effort is one of complete respect and our aim is solely to honor your family in this loss and show Robert’s children that their father was a hero and I man forever admired and loved in this brotherhood.

As a cop and a father, it humbles me greatly and would honor me beyond words to be able to memorialize Robert and serve your family in any way we could.
I thank you in advance and seek your blessing to do this and extend to you my deepest respect and pray that God be with you, protect you and comfort you in these tough times. In us, you have an extended family.

I am sorry for the loss of any officer - no matter the branch. I know that it could never be said enough - but I thank you for your efforts to protect me and my family. I know if given the choice, you would like to watch your own children grow, but God protects and watches over those who watch and protect others. I am sorry for your loss of life, but I thank you for protecting me.

The primary mission of the USBP is to prevent terrorist and terrorist weapons of mass destruction from entering U.S. soil. Another mission is to improve the security and lifestyle of border communities. The USBP has to do this every day. The drug cartel violence in Mexico has been kept out of the U.S. due to the dedication of every USBP agent that deters the cartel violence from spilling over into the U.S.

Agent Rosas swore to defend this country and he did so to the very end. It takes a special person to operate along the dangerous border between Mexico and the U.S. Agent Rosas was one of these persons. He did not avoid his duty to inspect the border area where he was ambushed. He went to the area knowing that dangerous persons could be in lurking in the dark. Agent Rosas did his duty to protect this country by insuring that dangerous persons do not enter and remain on U.S. soil.

Agent Rosas is a hero and every U.S. citizen that enjoys the tranquility of their neighborhood owes the peace they enjoy to every law enforcement person that performs their duty every day they report for duty.

Agent Rosas, rest in peace brother. Your memory will never be forgotten. Thank you for your dedication.

Today I met with a co-worker and we talked about how brave you were in that very, very brave moment that you fought, fought very hard.
