Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Tom Rye Wilson, III
Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
I pray for solace for all that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.
Rest In Peace.

Words can not describe the sadness that my wife, Robin, and I felt when we heard of Tom's death. I worked with Tom for nearly five years. As Tom and I were both "products of The University of Southern Mississippi", Tom was one of the first people to make me feel welcome at the PD. He was a great friend and one of the best police officers I ever worked along side. When I decided to leave the PD for the Patrol, Tom sought me out to give me his support, congratulations and advice on furthering my career. I still remember exactly what he told me. As usual, he was right. His death is a true loss to his community, friends and family. May God's loving, protective arms wrap around his family in this time of loss. Tom, keep watch over us as we continue to do the job down here. See you soon.

Tom Wilson was just an awesome person – I am a fellow classmate from Warren Central and Southern MS. I just loved his smile and his sense of humor. And if you needed Tom, he was there. He was a trusted friend, a wonderful officer and I will miss him so much. He was a man of honor, integrity and compassion. God danced the day he was born - may God surround his loved ones with strength and comfort.
