now disabled I have a lot of time to think, along with a period of homelessness, severe ptsd issues and life in general, I never can stop thinking about how we could pick each other up by lighting a fire under the other ones rump when we got down. I wish so badly I could have gone to the funeral to say good bye. but being a homeless man at the time I did not want to embarrass the pd or myself. but he will be forever in my heart and mind. miss you Dex. I hope you knew Jesus in your heart

I have so many questions, as a man. As a father, I see clearly, how much you sacrificed for me and my brother. You were the only man that I considered to be my father. You stepped in and helped me grow into a man, and I know how to be a dad because of you. Thank you dad, Wish I could I say this to you. I love you.

its been a while since i left a note but your always in my thoughts. when i see the rookies on the streets now i remember when you were in the car training with me. even though i chewed you out gave you a hard time when you did not know where a street was and had to pull back on the ropes and say slow down dude. i will always have a special place in my heart for you, you were not just one of my officers you were my friend and i am proud to have been in your life.
