Reflections for Trooper Michael Warren "Mike" Haynes

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.

To the widow and children of Trooper Haynes, I extend my deepest condolences. I read the article in today's Great Falls Tribune and I just wanted to reach out to you and see if you would like to talk sometime. My husband, SA Ryan A. Balmer (also on the odmg site) was a Federal Agent with the Air Force and was killed in Iraq in June of 2007, our children Anthony was 7 at the time and our daughter, Gabby was 11 months. I know what it is like to be a young widow with children so if you would ever like to talk or need to vent, please contact me. My email is d[email protected] Did you attend COPS last May? I really hope you and your family did, it was a stepping stone to our recovery.
I wish you the very best and my heart goes out to you. Thank you for your support of your husband, and thank him for his service and sacrifice!

May, 10th 2010 I had the honor of riding in the 2010 Police Unity Tour, 3 days and 200 miles. I rode to honor Trooper Haynes, who made the ultimate sacrifice. It was truly an honor!

My husband was one of the firefighters who responded to the collision. We where very touched by this accident, and prayed for your recovery. I will never forget driving in town the day of your service, the quiet calm. It was lifechanging. I drive by the spot of the collision almost daily and think of you and your children. I never met you, or your family, but Thank you sincerely for your dedication and service, and wish your loved ones my condolences.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Trooper Haynes and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Trooper Haynes, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Trooper Haynes is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

For your courage I know the Lord will bless you and your family. For your honor I know you are respected. I really thought Mike would make it, that he would break the chain. Heavenly Father had other plans for him, and for you. We are so greatful for the wonderful times we all had together while David was still here, and especially the times last summer on the lake the kids had so much fun with you and Mike out on the waverunners. Tawny I have cherished our friendship so much since David's death, and now so much more!! Please know that I will always be there for you and the kids. Mike, David and Evan will show you the way, take care. We will take care of your family until you meet again.
