Reflections for Police Officer Geoffrey W. G. Stone

Rest in peace Officer Stone.

I've often thought about this accident because I was in a motorcycle accident in central Alabama and airlifted to UAB on the same day. Because of all the painkillers, I remember little from that day, but I remember the people in the hospital talking about it. This memory has continued to impress on me that our lives are very uncertain.

I met you once Jeff, when you came to my home and helped Amy set up in my dinning room so she could bring my vision of my project to life. I no longer own that home, but every time I see a picture of the room a room I loved so much I think of Amy, and of you and the sadness of your passing, for Amy and your family.

Geoff,

I thought of you today and searched for your name on Google, only to find this page. We knew each other for only a short time while you were at Lackland, but you made an impression that I have not forgotten. I'll find your grave site when I get to Birmingham again. I miss you, buddy.

Geoff,
I can't believe it is about to be 5 years. I was looking through my phone the other day and noticed that I still have your cell phone number in it. I couldn't help but call it. We miss you and will not forget you.

My thoughts and prayers are with Officer Stone's family, friends and co-workers. So many of us continue to have to walk this road together. But with each other's support we make it! I was married to Trooper Brian Nichols and am now married to Officer Aaron Carpenter. Once law enforcement, always law enforcement. I pray daily for the families of our fallen heroes and for the ones continuing on the Thin Blue Line. I am both and we all fear this one day can happen. May God bless each of you and keep you in His hand.

You never asked to transfer yet God had a position to fill in His kingdom and you were the one to take it up and serve it well. Just as you served His children here and gave love, honor and respect to yur family and all of Gods children you served here so shall you serve them in His kingdom. Know your name will not be forgoten here by your brothers and sisters in law enforcement and they will tend to your family. As you meet Jesus and all your brothers and sisters in the badge who have gone before and will come after enjoy the eternity of love and peace in His kingdom. In Christ.
