Reflections for Captain Richard J. "Rick" Cashin

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered. .

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. I hold your family in my heart's embrace today

.Rest In Peace

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Captain Cashin and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Captain Cashin, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Captain Cashin is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Captain Cashin did one last service to his community on March 29th 2009 in Allston Massachusetts. What happened was this, my older sister Jessica M. Cashin was at a job interview in Allston when someone stole her purse and her car and stranding her in Boston, at night and three hours from her family. Jessica called the local police but they were not willing to help at first because they thought her plight was "not important enough" to be worthy of their attention. But that changed when they realized that she had the same last name as Brave officer who had recently died in the line of duty. Once the police in Allston realized this they immediately set about helping Jessica and even finding her car. If the police had not recognized the importance of Jessica's last name then who knows what might have happened. Thank you for answering our prayers Captain Richard J. Cashin
