Reflections for Detention Officer Cesar Arreola

Officer Arreola,
On today, the 10th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of El Paso County. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections/Detention Officer. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Thank you for your service. You will always be remembered. Your incident sounds just like the Fulton County Sheriff's Officer candidate who was pushed so hard to perform in the high heat and humidity that he collapsed and died the next day. May God be with your family.

I want to offer my condolences to this truly dedicated Officer and his family. It's a shame to hear that another officer has paid the ultimate sacrifice. We protect our communities from harm but take the risk of not coming home. I appreciate the service you have given us.

Cesar, I spoke with your wife tonite and she told me what a fantastic man and member of the community you were. She told me how active you were in the community and how much you loved the children. The El Paso SO has lost a brother and a hero, to his wife, his children, the community but GOD has gained another Peacekeeper to look over those he left behind. Rest in Peace, Cesar, we'll watch over your family.
