I went through the 71st Amarillo Police Academy in 2001-2002 with Mark. Mark was respected by everyone who knew him and at the same time was able to make everyone around him laugh. Mark was taken from us way too soon and we will always miss him. His two children did not get nearly enough time with their father, but they can be very proud of the man that he was.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who miss and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
Rest In Peace

I didn't get to work with Mark very long or get to know him very well, however, I did think he was a very nice guy. I worked some off duty jobs with him at Christmas one year. He made me laugh all the time. He was very helpful with the citizens and always willing to do whatever was needed. God Bless his family and I'm glad I knew him.
