Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Charles Benjamin Skinner

I am one of his newborns twins 15 years later now writing to you guys. I have read through all the reflections and couldn't be more grateful for keeping his memory alive. Most of my knowledge on him comes from articles like these and it truly means a lot. Thank you for all you do with the awareness of the sacrifices people like my dad make every day.

Officer Skinner, thank you for your sacrifice and service. I was with my father, LEO Cache Sheriff's Office, and my uncle, LEO North Salt Lake PD, at your funeral. It was the first police funeral I had ever been too and I was very young. I will never forget riding in my father's patrol car, helping lead you to your final resting place, seeing the firemen hanging the American Flag on the highway overpass, and the hundreds of civilians who lined the streets in support of the ultimate sacrifice you made while serving their community. Seeing the support from your community filled my heart, and tears poured from my eyes. Thank you for sacrificing everything for those you serve. I still remember you and think of you often. I did not know you but you changed my life forever. You will never be forgotten. Your memory, service, and sacrifice still lives on today.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

You are loved and missed by many, especially your family and friends. I pray for their solace.

The pain and the pride are forever. Rest In Peace

I am thinking of your family on this day that you passed away. I am sure this week has been so difficult for them. I hope your wife and babies are doing as best as they can be. My thoughts are with them. I have not meet them but did meet your mom and Kati's aunt and uncle at the Utah Memorial when your name was added to the wall.
Thank-you for your sacrifice Officer Skinner and also to your family for the sacrifice they make each day living without you here.

In respect of Officer Charles Skinner and in respect to his family and fellow Officers of the North Salt Lake Police Department and the Bountiful Police Department, I am thankful for the sacrifices you all make daily for our communities. But to Officer Skinner I am greatful for you making the ultimate sacrifice! North Salt Lake City Police Officer Charles Skinner is a hero and kids can be proud of their father. I attended Officer Skinners funeral services nearly 1 year ago and it was the first funeral of a fallen Law Officer I have ever attended. As one close to Law Enforcement and the son of a retired Bountiful Police Sergeant this incident with Officer Skinner hit close to home for me and I will always remember seeing Officer Skinner patrolling around North Salt Lake City and I will never forget attending his funeral. On this 1 year anniversary of Officer Skinner going 10-42 for a final time, I respectfully honor this hero to our community and my prayers and love go out to his immediate and extended family. Sacrifice brings the blessings and those who lay down their lives for their friends the same shall be saved. Thank you Officer Skinner for your heartfelt service and for making the ultimate sacrifice in answering the call to back up your fellow officers and close brothers!
