Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Sarah Irene Haylett-Jones

How I hear your "laugh", as I am watching Gunter & Lilly chase the squirrels in the yard....

Hoping that in the next coming week, Police Week, people take a minute out of their day to glance at the frame I made to see how special a Hero you are to us..

I didn't know you, but a few years ago I had the priviledge of running in your honor at the National Police Week 5K here in DC. I have completed this race a few times, and each year it has been an honor to read about the dedicated service and sacrifices made to keep the rest of us safe, and do my part, even one as small as running. Thank you again for your service.

Happy Birthday Dear Sarah, we are thinking of you today as we do everyday...you are dearly missed. The kids were just talking about you the other day and it made me smile that they were so blessed to have had you in their lives even though it was too short. We love you and know that you are in a much better place. Love, Stephanie, Tim, Mackenzie and Austin

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones. You have not been forgotten as true heroes never die.

Always in our thoughts and prayers and missing you today especially. The rain is pouring down and it feels like tears from heaven. Still can't believe it has been 3 years already. Continue to watch over our families and keep the streets of heaven safe for us!

It is hard to believe that three years have already gone since you left. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of you. I am sitting here watching our daughter, Morgan, running around the house and it is hard to believe she was only three weeks old when God took you home. I wish you could have met her.

Last week an officer from a neighboring agency was killed in the line of duty trying to stop bank robbery suspects (I am sure you guys have already met up there). We are preparing for the funeral which is Friday. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers, but this time of sorrow makes me think of and miss you even more.

Love ya'

Sarah, you are always with me like the weather~when it's sunny I feel your warm smile, when it's raining I feel your tears, when it's windy I feel your fury, when it's snowing I see the twinkles of hope you've sent down from above~

Sarah,

The last time I physically saw you was on my wedding day, 08 Sep 2005 when you took on the role as my maid of honor in Dededo Guam. Although the Air Force took us separate places throughout our lives, you were always and still are in my thoughts and heart. I salute you and pray for your husband, family and friends. I will do everything within my power and control to spread the word and conduct pledges against the use of cell phones while driving. God Bless, rest in peace, and I will see you again someday.

Sarah, just registered for the 3rd Annual Sarah Jones Memorial 5K. Now, you know I won't be running, but, am
always with you in spirit!

Thought of you often this spring, as, you know things have
been changing swiftly! Everyone is doing well! Planted some
of your sunflower seeds, hopefully the squirrels won't get them this year!?

Keep watching over us, as I keeping watching for your "star' on the clear nights....

Hey Sarah,

There is not a day that goes by that we do not think of you and how much we miss you. I just wanted to stop by and let you know that we are thinking of you (even more than usual) on Police Memorial Day.

Oh Sarah, you'll never know what an empty spot there is in every day;
Our special talks, jokes, and love shared across the ocean and miles away,
It was as if we sat side by side sharing, when it was really the computer that
kept us close with words of caring.
Your life was so full right to the end, and you enjoyed so much, I believe God wanted you with him, and left
the rest of us with all the memories, but no Sarah to acually touch.
I wish I had told you more often, how special to me, you were;
But, right now, that little smile is showing you knew how I loved you, I'm sure.
Your favorite Aunt

My Beautiful Girl,
Happened to come by and say "I Love You". . .
You know the mushrooms will be comming up soon, your hunting partner misses you . . .
Maybe I can get him to go if I come along, although I could never take your place.
We'll go to the in the wood where two of you used to dwell, and maybe we will feel your spirt there . . .
This "Other Place" it's been called for years, where he taught you of Mother Nature; fragile plants, creatures hidden,a Majestic Vision, or those tender and sweet.
Memories carried with you through eternity . . .
Not stilled by time or another demention . . .

With Love Always & Forever, Mom
