It's been too long since your untimely passing. It is our privilege to remember and honor you; while you may be gone you will never be forgotten.

I now work for "your" police department and, though it's been many, many years, the loss of you will be with us forever. I have been in law enforcement for over 30 years, as both a communicator and an officer, and it never gets any easier to say goodbye to any member of my law enforcement family. May it comfort your family to know your death was not in vain. Our city and our department has florished. You would be proud to be a member of both. May we never suffer such a great loss again. Your brothers and sisters remember you & wish they knew you. Rest in peace, beloved brother.
