Mike, I just got off the phone with you Dad. We had a nice talk about you and Christopher (11W,Line 26). You will be sorely missed. Thank you for pinning on the badge and being a fine example to all these young men and women in blue that go out everyday not knowing how their day will unfold. For them to see what a fine young man you were and how you served your community. This will give them the strength to carry through on those days that are rough. I will be praying for your co-workers, friends, and mostly you family that God will see them through this very tough times. Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God". I will see you in Glory!

One can not express in words the sorrow at the loss of a Husband, Father, Son & Grandson, Brother and Brother-in-law, friend and HERO. Junior was a truly outstanding young man who empitimized the best a family and this country has to offer. It is hard to understand God's plan for us, however we must have faith that God's love and mercy for us will triumph and allow us to find the answers we seek.

Until we meet again Brother Officer, Rest in Peace.

Mike, though I didn't know him for long, made a huge impact on me! As a Criminal Justice student, I had to do a 'ride-along' and an interview with a department. When I was paired up with Mike, I was really excited because he was such a nice guy and fun to be around! He really showed me a lot while we were out that day, he even showed me how to round up some runaway cows! He will be missed by everyone that had ever gotten to meet him! Rest in Peace, Michael, I know that there is a special place in heaven just for you! ~CC~

As we mourn,
I ask you to reflect.
Solely on his life,
Not on his death.

As we grow older,
We all know someday we must go.
But this young man,
Was no "Average Joe".

Of course he was a father, a husband and a son,
But Mike was so much more all in one.
He was a friend, an authority, and a role model too,
The kind a young child would tell, "I want to be just like you".

The qualities that Mike held
Were ones to remember.
And we'll never forget the 14th of September.

For years to come,
We'll wonder why.
Why did this young man have to die?
Someday we'll learn about God's Big Plan,
But until then, we'll be less one great man.

Never again will we hear 41-18 or 42-5,
But his memory in us all will forever be alive.
Here's to all that Mike has done,
As we reminisce and remember together as one.

There but for the grace of God go I........

Lord take the soul of our brother Sergeant Weigand into your tender loving care. There to spend eternity in your presence, singing your glory until forever.

For his family, take comfort in the fact that Michael was doing a job he loved, because you only have two choices in this job, and Michael decided to love what he did. I am sure you will remember the great and good things about Michael. That is what I am sure he would want you to do.

God bless you all.

Jr. Although I didn't have the privilege of knowing you for very long or getting to know you very well, it's easy to see what you were made of and what you were all about.

I saw it over the last few days from fellow officers and members of the community who knew you. You set an example in your short life for all of us to follow for the rest of ours.

So rest now brother. You earned it. Job well done.
