The area of highway where Marty was lost is named in his honor.
A little background on Marty. When he met his wife she was battling cancer
that would take her life a short while after Marty was lost.
He didn't care that her illness might take her and they married.
That alone makes him every officer officer's hero.

Marty,
I only knew you for a short time with the dogs, but you certainly made a big impact on my family's life, especially my oldest son...He wants to follow in your footsteps one day with the dogs.
Myself and my boys are very proud to have known you...you will never be forgotten!
