Obviously a man who was respected and appreciated by the people he served. Their payback on the murderer earns kudos from me for sure.

You are not forgotten sir.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 106th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. You must have been a loved and respected member of your community given the community reaction to your murder. How nice that your great grandsons discovered this site and were able to post a reflection.

Rest In Peace.

As great grandsons of Sheriff Crawford (now 86 & 78) we are proud to finally have a few more details concerning our great grandfather. It turns out that the details on this web page surrounding his death are surprisingly close to the information that was passed down to us many years ago.

We are proud of his service and sacrifice also!

Sheriff,

To have a crowd break INTO the jail and take your killer shows how much you were loved by the community that you served. You must have been a great person. I look forward to meeting you at the great roll call above.

God Speed Sheriff.
