To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 57th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

This year I have been fortunate to have been assigned to ride the Police Unity Tour in your honor. I am honored to make the trip in your name. I will make the journey knowing that you are my motivation and I will not let you down. As you walk the beat with all of our other fallen brothers and sisters, know that you sir, have not been forgotten and will always be remembered. I am proud to ride for you.
